The Melbourne-based trio, Acopia, create a soundscape of lush, ethereal synths, soft percussion, and compelling strings within their third album Blush Response. It balances a melancholic groove with moments of resilience from songs like “See You In Everyone,” “Falling,” and “Chase Me,” which cast a mirror over their listeners to confront their realities. The collective songs explore themes of emotional distance and the weight of unspoken feelings. Blush Response’s dream-pop, trip-hop, timeless feel allows a perfect environment for late-night listening for introspection or a crave you can’t shake to flourish within its tracks.
After the deeply introspective Chromakopia, Tyler The Creator relapsed with his explosive dance/hip-hop album, DON'T TAP THE GLASS. Sampling beats and bars from the rappers of the ’90s, this album is an ode to what once was: the colorful old school hip-hop scene that made people move. While promoting his message of being unabashedly yourself, Tyler underscores each track with his masterful musicianship. His eighth album is an ambitious, yet excitingly new piece of work that listeners have not been handed by a main-stream artists for some time. When listening to DON'T TAP THE GLASS his audience is swept by a sense of nostalgia of a time when community was a vital part of the act of listening to music.

Collaborating with Elias Rønnenfelt and Vegyn, Dean Blunt’s Lucre is a tender, honest, and languid collection of songs. Prioritizing strings on this album, Blunt does not use his own vocals, but rather Rønnenfelt’s soft draw takes over the lyrics. This album strips down superficial worldly affairs and deals with existential longing in a bittersweet and hazy soundscape. Devolving from a habitual track list, Lucre's songs are titled as numbers (a Bluntian thing to do) in which the songs almost blend together to create one relentless track. The strong chemistry between Blunt and Rønnenfelt could be felt through the journey of this album---inviting listeners into a kaleidoscope of sound that makes for a tedious yet personal musical experience.
